Lucila Amatista Argentina, 1978

Translated from Spanish

A superimposition of seemingly ordered geometric layers is tensed, breaking its logic and generating a succession of unpredictable patterns, producing the combination of a rational and systematic work with another one that is freer. Thread, pencil and ink are headed towards a more lyrical abstraction, closer to an organic growth. Nets that form a great cartographic weave, multiply, so it can repeat itself infinitely—spaces of accumulation and emptiness. Macro and micro cosmos. This body of work is the result of an extremely repetitive mechanism generated by a single gesture; the same compulsive action of creating weaves.
