My work focuses on the use of mechanisms from the art world, commerce, exhibitions and creative processes, to develop an analysis about reality. Fiction and selection are large-scale processes that break up in spectacle. Through my practice I aim—by reducing the scale of the elements that intervene—to signal these processes to make them latent and to question our participation in them. From my position within the arts (making reference to my position in the world), I propose that one of the ways we use to respond and face these systems would be to utilize their own processes of creating reality in order to create fictions, through a re-selection of this presupposed totality, which is ultimately always partial.

 

Mi trabajo se centra en el uso de los mecanismos del mundo de arte, el comercio, la exhibición y los procesos de creación para hacer con ello una reflexión acerca de la realidad. La ficción y la selección son procesos que a gran escala se disuelven en el espectáculo. Mediante mi práctica intento, al reducir la escala de los elementos que intervienen, señalar estos procesos para hacerlos latentes y cuestionar nuestra participación en ellos. Desde mi posición en el arte, (haciendo referencia a mi posición en el mundo) propongo que una de las maneras que tenemos para responder y hacer frente a estos sistemas es utilizar sus propios procesos de crear realidad para crear ficciones mediante una re-selección de esta supuesta totalidad, que es finalmente siempre parcial.
