Translated from Spanish
My work creates an ambiguous relationship between abstraction and representation. I compose paintings that depict constructed scenes and objects that borrow from the language of painting, marks are constructed with wooden blocks and painted. By depicting these objects, or more directly the experience that they incite, I present the language of painting. While working within the tradition of still life painting, my process is taken to what must be its obvious conclusion. The objects painted must initially be that thing which they wish to re-present, the language of painting.
